4 Tips to Help You Stick with Change

We have all faced some sort of inevitable change in our lives, whether emotionally, mentally, physically or otherwise. It can be hard at times to accept change or keep up with it. However, given enough time and patience, change is something that can be accepted, if not welcomed, wholeheartedly. If you seem to be having a little trouble organizing your thoughts on the matter or need a little boost, here are a few tips to help you stick with life’s changes, no matter how big or small they might be.

1. If you plan to change your life physically, it helps to make lists and stay on top of them. Nothing helps more than making a list of things to do each day. It helps to write down your thoughts and plans, even more so when you can go back and look them over. It gets goals out of your head, where you might otherwise forget about them. Always make lists for changes to your everyday routine. For instance, if you’d like to workout more often or do one chore a day, mark it on your list!

2. If you aren’t one for making lists, perhaps create a daily reminder on your phone. Considering a good portion of the world’s population have smartphones nowadays, a really good way to utilize technology to help you stick with change would be to set daily reminders on your phone. This could be used to remind yourself of the change you set for yourself and it isn’t something that you would have to constantly remind yourself to do.

3. It always helps to have a friend or family member help you through change. Sometimes, it helps to have a friend along for the ride, even if they themselves are not going through the change. Just having someone around to help encourage you can do wonders and it is never a bad thing to ask for help. Remember though, it is no one else’s job but yours to go through that change.

4. Don’t give up, no matter how hard it might seem. Sometimes life can seem impossible; however, that is not the case. You are strong and every step you take matters. Life can be tough, but it is worth it. No matter how impossible the change may seem, don’t give up on it. Keep working to accept and maintain it. Life moves on. Change is inevitable but completely doable as well.
